Should we look for a low-grade threshold for blastocyst transfer? A scoping review

Embryo quality is a key determinant of the success IVF. Although focus has been on selecting best embryo for transfer, classification low-grade blastocysts (LGB) in existing scoring systems received less attention. This worrisome; freezing allows optimal use all created embryos, thus maximizing cumulative live birth rate, which arguably most important outcome infertile couples. A PubMed search was conducted August 2020, using ‘(((‘poor-quality’ OR ‘poor quality’) (‘low-grade’ ‘low grade’)) AND (‘embryo’ ‘blastocyst’)) (‘pregnancy’ ‘live birth’)’. scoping review shows that LGB have similar euploidy and pregnancy rates after implantation no adverse effects or perinatal outcomes. Evidence outcomes lacking different grades LGB, with studies clustering LQB as one to compare blastocysts.
